Devri has been teaching piano for 8 years. She taught my first lesson at the age of 17 in exchange for a bag of oranges… And has loved it ever since! While she moved past the charge of a bag of oranges since then, she has also moved far forward in her own musical and educational experience. She knew from very early on that she would be a musician for life. In 2009 Devri began to pursue her music education degree from Greenville College, in Illinois. She received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education, moved back to California, and finished her certification for teaching. She began teaching at Grace Note shortly after graduating and has grown to love teaching more than ever. It is her passion to continually sculpt her own technical and expressive abilities in performing as well as to continually develop her teaching style and effectiveness. As a teacher her favorite hobby is to learn!
She has worked for churches for about 8 years and has extensive knowledge on performing hymns, praise music, and worship tunes. While it is not something she covers in the typical studio with a student, if you are looking to hone your abilities as a church pianist we can help.
Also, she has worked for several theaters as a pianist and vocal coach. If you are preparing to audition for a specific role, bring your music and let’s get technical! Whether you land the role or not, we can make clear goals and we’ll get you closer to them. The more you practice, the luckier you get!
