Grace Note Fall Recital 2015

Grace Note Fall Recital 2015-1Grace Note had a very successful fall recital on September 19, 2015! Thirty of our students gave us their best, and we were not disappointed. We conduct quarterly recitals because we feel it is so important to the progress of our students. It allows them to show a supportive audience what they have worked so hard to achieve, but it also builds their confidence in performing in public. Congratulations to all of our wonderful students for their amazing perfomances!

We would like to highlight ten-year-old Connor’s perfomance because he really blew us all away! Check out this video of Connor playing the blues with his teacher Andrew!

Here are some photos of our student performances!

Special Thank You!

As we wrap up our Indiegogo fundraiser we wanted to thank everyone who contributed to our campaign. Though we were only able to raise 10% of our $15,000 goal, we will still be providing one six-month scholarship to one child with the $1,550 we raised. We will be mailing our perks out in late November or early December. We will keep everyone posted about who will receive the scholarship, and the progress of that student.

Grace Note Young Performers Scholarship

IMG_7565 Grace Note Music Studio is a private-lessons based music school located in the downtown area of Visalia, California. We have served the community with the best opportunities for private music education since early 2014. Grace Note offers private instruction on nearly all musical instruments and voice, with highly skilled instructors who love teaching as much as they love music! We put on quarterly student recitals which help our students stay accountable for practicing, as well as to help them develop as young performing musicians. We are proud to provide a unique and comfortable atmosphere where everybody is welcome!

We are launching the Young Perfomers Scholarship so that we can provide lessons and instruments to students who could not otherwise afford them. The need in our community is very high and though we would love to sponsor many more students, we are starting with five scholarships and a long term goal of providing scholarships to more students in the future. Each scholarship will cover the cost of 12 months tuition ($2,500) and the cost of an instrument up to $500. This brings the total cost of each scholarship to $3,000. We get referrals for students in need of these scholarships from schools in our community and several local programs such as The Pro Youth Heart.

Please support our campaign in any way you can! If you are not able to contribute monetarily please spread the word by sharing our campaign with your friends and family. If you are able to contribute you will receive perks for contributions of $5 or more. Just know that anything you do to help our campaign will bring us closer to giving the gift of music education to five young members of our community. Who knows what great things these students will go on to do because of your generosity!

Music The Key To Success!

Music education is one of the best ways to stimulate brain development, teach children to socialize, learn discipline, and to have fun making music! Take a look at this article from the New York Times.

Is Music the Key to Success?

“Multiple studies link music study to academic achievement. But what is it about serious music training that seems to correlate with outsize success in other fields?

The phenomenon extends beyond the math-music association. Strikingly, many high achievers told me music opened up the pathways to creative thinking. And their experiences suggest that music training sharpens other qualities: Collaboration. The ability to listen. A way of thinking that weaves together disparate ideas. The power to focus on the present and the future simultaneously.”

What are your thoughts? Do you know any successful people whose early life included musical training?

Check out our Music Lessons page for more information on how to get started!
